Benefit Concert for Max Cahoon

Join us in helping Max beat leukemia—for the second time!

Come enjoy an evening of live music, community, and compassion.

  • Music by: LakeTown Sound

  • Food Trucks: Donating a portion of proceeds

  • Raffle Items: All proceeds benefit the Cahoon family

About the Cause

We’re calling on our community to rally around Chelsea and Max Cahoon and their two children. Max bravely fought acute myeloid leukemia in 2022 and went into remission after a bone marrow transplant. Sadly, in July of this year, his cancer returned.

Chelsea, a dedicated cardiac nurse at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane, has tirelessly supported her family while Max has been unable to work. Now, Max must undergo 45 days of aggressive intravenous chemotherapy in Seattle, with a 70% chance of remission. During this time, Chelsea will homeschool their children while also stepping away from work.

This benefit concert will help offset the significant treatment and family expenses as they face this challenge together.

How You Can Help

Come enjoy a night of music and community, knowing that every raffle ticket, every food truck order, and every dollar raised will directly support the Cahoon family.

❤️ Together, we can help give Max and his family the chance to resume a healthy and happy life.

Like the trees, these baskets change with time, shifting from green to deep brown while remaining strong in new ways. She began weaving as a child and continues to honor the Native American roots of this tradition by developing her own style and encouraging others to support Native artists.

It all started back in 2020, when Travis’s wife asked him to make her a simple Idaho sign. What began as a thoughtful favor quickly turned into a full-blown passion for woodworking. A lifelong lover of color and the outdoors, Shelly Matthews has always found joy in creating—whether through art, gardens, or designing spaces with her architect husband. With a degree in Art Education from Ball State University, she spent over two decades founding and leading a Christian elementary school where the arts were central. Now retired from that chapter, she’s embracing this next season by devoting her time fully to art—teaching, creating, and finding inspiration in everyday beauty (and a few goats and chickens along the way!)

Creating is her calling—whether it’s 2D, 3D, singing, or writing, Cori loves it all—but clay is where she feels most at home. Her sculptures are bold, abstract, and joyfully extra, blending bright colors and wild textures in a Maximalist style she likes to think of as modern Rococo. Underneath the vibrant glamour, her work explores deeper themes, inviting curiosity and reflection. She is endlessly inspired by the creative process itself—and by everyday moments of beauty, from her kids’ laughter to the rhythm of the ocean.

Based out of Coeur d’Alene, Brooke Baggett uses the ever changing landscapes and beauty of nature as her inspiration. Her desire for creative expression has led her to become a self-taught artist. She finds deep satisfaction in painting—challenging herself technically and exploring multiple styles, mediums, and subject matters. In 2022, she was named Artist of the Year by the Coeur d’Alene Art Association.

A Pacific Northwest artist whose vibrant, emotive work is inspired by the natural beauty around her and a deep-rooted family history of artistry. Known for her signature style of Organic Pointillism, Heidi draws influence from masters like Monet and Van Gogh while forging a bold, original path of her own. Largely self-taught, Heidi blends vintage materials and nature-inspired elements to create meaningful, lasting pieces that reflect each client’s unique space and story.

Looking for some unique indoor and outdoor art? Look no further— Hollis Artworks makes the cutest metal art around! Created by a local artist out of Hayden, each piece is custom-built using recycled parts. These upcycled metal creations bring new life to old materials, resulting in one-of-a-kind art full of personality and charm—perfect for your home or garden.

Judy Minter  holds a Masters of Arts degree in Photography, Bachelors of art, Associates in Architectural Design and Interior Design. Her work experience has been in aerospace photography for McDonnell Douglas-Boeing, but currently in her own business, offers decorative painting of residential and commercial properties. She creates Bas Relief, contemporary paintings, and gourds.

Whimsical, vibrant, and delightfully silly—Mo Belden’s artwork brings joy to life. As an independent illustrator and painter, Mo creates playful designs inspired by the wonderful and unexpected, printing them on T-shirts, prints, and more.

Linda Hagen Miller, the creative force behind Northwest Spindrift, is a local artist out of Hauser, ID known for her beautifully crafted driftwood art. Inspired by the natural textures and shapes she finds along the shores of the Pacific Northwest, Linda creates one-of-a-kind pieces that celebrate the beauty of reclaimed materials. Over the past five years, her work has found its way into local craft fairs, galleries, and garden shops, where it's cherished for its organic elegance and coastal charm.

This vibrant mixed media piece by Rosemary Sissons captures a dreamlike sunset through rich textures, layered color, and organic elements. The swirling golden sun—radiating warmth and energy—is a signature theme in Rosemary’s work, which often explores the connection between the earthly and the ethereal. Like many of her pieces, it invites the viewer into a world where nature, spirit, and emotion intertwine.

Sip, Shop & Culture

Join us for one—or all—of our four summer gatherings at our Sip, Shop & Culture community events! Nothing beats a magical summer evening at New Leaf Nursery, where nature meets art. Wander through the nursery grounds where you can admire the work of local artists, sip on delicious wine, and indulge in a charcuterie selection from local winery, Rosemary Manor.

Each of our Sip, Shop & Culture events will feature a different local band, bringing fresh energy and unique sounds to every gathering. We’re kicking off the series with the smooth, soulful rhythms of Balboa Park, a Latin jazz band that’s quickly making a name for themselves in the local music scene. Their rich, melodic grooves will fill the nursery grounds, creating an unforgettable ambiance as you stroll through garden pathways, admire local art, and sip on your favorite wine.

Whether you're here to find inspiration, discover one-of-a-kind pieces, or simply unwind with a glass of wine, we welcome you to join us. It's the perfect opportunity to support our local artisan community and mingle with fellow art lovers.

Can’t make it to our first event? No worries! We’ve got three more lined up this summer. Check the dates below for all the details.
