Sip, Shop & Culture

Join us for our fourth summer gathering at our Sip, Shop & Culture community event! Nothing beats a magical summer evening at New Leaf Nursery, where nature meets art. Wander through the nursery grounds where you can admire the work of local artists, sip on delicious wine, and indulge in a charcuterie selection from local winery, Rosemary Manor.

Our final Sip, Shop & Culture event of the season will feature THE POLLINATORS — a Pacific Northwest band performing a mix of covers and original tunes. The Pollinators were created by three members of the national touring act Paper Flowers “Remembering Fleetwood Mac” as a fun way to pass the time when not on the road. They are known for their fun, interactive Wednesday night residency at Timbers Roadhouse in Cataldo, Idaho where they cover tunes from their favorite bands, play originals and welcome audience participation and requests. They play an eclectic mix of music that ranges from Elvis to Lady Gaga and everything in between. You’ll hear rock, pop, funk, soul and country with the focus being predominantly on hits from the 70’s, 80’s MTV classics & 90’s.

If it’s a girl’s night out, or a date night with your spouse, we can promise a summer night well spent! Meet local artists and creators as they showcase their talents. Whether you're here to find inspiration, discover one-of-a-kind pieces, or simply unwind with a glass of wine, we welcome you to join us. It's the perfect opportunity to support our local artisan community and mingle with fellow art lovers.

VENDOR LINEUP

Andrea is a fused glass artist whos work blends precise craftsmanship with creative vision, using heat, pressure, and fire to transform glass into pieces inspired by nature’s beauty. From cloudlike swirls to lake-blue blends, she draws on natural imagery to guide her designs. Each piece is the result of careful planning, technical skill, and a touch of unpredictability—where science meets artistry to create work that brings beauty and joy to its surroundings.

Deborah York is a talented local watercolorist who captures the heart and soul of her subjects with every brushstroke. Specializing in portraits of adults, children, and beloved animals—dogs, horses, cows, and more—her work is full of life, personality, and charm. Each painting is a story in itself, reflecting the unique spirit of the moment and the connection between artist and subject.

Messenger Moth Studio is born from a lifelong love of nature. Through Emily’s travels to breathtaking landscapes and quiet garden moments alike, she’s come to treasure both the grandeur of mountain ranges and the delicate beauty of a moth’s wing or a leaf’s veins. Each creation is her way of sharing that sense of wonder for the small details that make up the big picture—and for the Creator behind them all. 10% of every purchase is donated to charities including Eurorelief, Union Gospel Mission Spokane, and Together For Better Days.

Julie Goodwin has been designing stained glass since 1981, bringing over four decades of experience and passion to her craft. Her work is known for its vibrant colors, intricate patterns, and ability to capture light in truly magical ways. Each piece reflects her deep appreciation for traditional techniques, while also showcasing her unique artistic vision.

A Pacific Northwest artist whose vibrant, emotive work is inspired by the natural beauty around her and a deep-rooted family history of artistry. Known for her signature style of Organic Pointillism, Heidi draws influence from masters like Monet and Van Gogh while forging a bold, original path of her own. Largely self-taught, Heidi blends vintage materials and nature-inspired elements to create meaningful, lasting pieces that reflect each client’s unique space and story.

Looking for some unique indoor and outdoor art? Look no further— Hollis Artworks makes the cutest metal art around! Created by a local artist out of Hayden, each piece is custom-built using recycled parts. These upcycled metal creations bring new life to old materials, resulting in one-of-a-kind art full of personality and charm—perfect for your home or garden.

Kathy’s love for art began in early childhood and has flourished across many mediums—from jewelry design to oil, acrylic, and especially watercolor painting. With 38 years of experience in watercolor, she believes beauty can be found in nearly everything. Her goal is to capture a special moment, person, pet, or scene in a way that preserves it as a cherished memory for years to come.

For over 35 years, Kelly Shelly has helped Hollywood shine brighter, creating motion graphics and designs for the Oscars, the Emmys, the ESPYs, and more—earning an Emmy in the process. Now, she channels that same creative spark into a fresh mix of art, blending tradition, design, and digital magic with a love for glitter, chaos, and good lighting. Her work is vibrant, eclectic, and always a little unexpected.

Whimsical, vibrant, and delightfully silly—Mo Belden’s artwork brings joy to life. As an independent illustrator and painter, Mo creates playful designs inspired by the wonderful and unexpected, printing them on T-shirts, prints, and more.

It all started back in 2020, when Travis’s wife asked him to make her a simple Idaho sign. What began as a thoughtful favor quickly turned into a full-blown passion for woodworking. Since then, Travis has honed his craft and now specializes in creating high-quality cutting boards in all shapes and sizes, custom woodwork, and one-of-a-kind signage. Each piece is made with care, creativity, and a deep appreciation for the craft.

This session will be extra special! On Wednesday, August 13, we’ll be joined by Susan Burke of Wings Rising, a local nonprofit dedicated to sustaining the growth of monarch butterflies here in North Idaho. Susan will share fascinating facts about these vital pollinators — and best of all — we’ll witness the release of live monarch butterflies into the garden!

Susan will also have small milkweed plants available for purchase at the nursery after the release—these are a favorite of monarch butterflies. Just imagine welcoming these stunning pollinators into your own garden!

To add to the fun:

  • The New Leaf face painters will be on-site — face painting is just $5 per child.

  • We will have a Coffee vendor here, serving up delicious coffee and specialty drinks for the grown-ups.

It’s a magical experience for young nature lovers and the young at heart. We encourage you to invite friends and family to join in the wonder. As a thank-you to our Lil’ Sprouts Garden Club, children in attendance will also receive a limited-edition Monarch sticker to take home.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a FREE event, but we kindly ask that you register below with the number of attendees in your party. Your RSVP helps us plan and prepare to ensure a fun and successful experience for everyone!

VENDOR LINEUP

A lifelong lover of color and the outdoors, Shelly Matthews has always found joy in creating—whether through art, gardens, or designing spaces with her architect husband. With a degree in Art Education from Ball State University, she spent over two decades founding and leading a Christian elementary school where the arts were central. Now retired from that chapter, she’s embracing this next season by devoting her time fully to art—teaching, creating, and finding inspiration in everyday beauty (and a few goats and chickens along the way!)

Creating is her calling—whether it’s 2D, 3D, singing, or writing, Cori loves it all—but clay is where she feels most at home. Her sculptures are bold, abstract, and joyfully extra, blending bright colors and wild textures in a Maximalist style she likes to think of as modern Rococo. Underneath the vibrant glamour, her work explores deeper themes, inviting curiosity and reflection. She is endlessly inspired by the creative process itself—and by everyday moments of beauty, from her kids’ laughter to the rhythm of the ocean.

Based out of Coeur d’Alene, Brooke Baggett uses the ever changing landscapes and beauty of nature as her inspiration. Her desire for creative expression has led her to become a self-taught artist. She finds deep satisfaction in painting—challenging herself technically and exploring multiple styles, mediums, and subject matters. In 2022, she was named Artist of the Year by the Coeur d’Alene Art Association.

Judy Minter  holds a Masters of Arts degree in Photography, Bachelors of art, Associates in Architectural Design and Interior Design. Her work experience has been in aerospace photography for McDonnell Douglas-Boeing, but currently in her own business, offers decorative painting of residential and commercial properties. She creates Bas Relief, contemporary paintings, and gourds.

Whimsical, vibrant, and delightfully silly—Mo Belden’s artwork brings joy to life. As an independent illustrator and painter, Mo creates playful designs inspired by the wonderful and unexpected, printing them on T-shirts, prints, and more.

Linda Hagen Miller, the creative force behind Northwest Spindrift, is a local artist out of Hauser, ID known for her beautifully crafted driftwood art. Inspired by the natural textures and shapes she finds along the shores of the Pacific Northwest, Linda creates one-of-a-kind pieces that celebrate the beauty of reclaimed materials. Over the past five years, her work has found its way into local craft fairs, galleries, and garden shops, where it's cherished for its organic elegance and coastal charm.

This vibrant mixed media piece by Rosemary Sissons captures a dreamlike sunset through rich textures, layered color, and organic elements. The swirling golden sun—radiating warmth and energy—is a signature theme in Rosemary’s work, which often explores the connection between the earthly and the ethereal. Like many of her pieces, it invites the viewer into a world where nature, spirit, and emotion intertwine.

The use of embroidery, with its tactile texture and depth, is an added medium she uses to bring her floral visions to life."
