  • New Leaf Nursery 12655 North Government Way Hayden, ID, 83835 United States (map)

In this workshop, you’ll explore the essentials of growing onions and shallots from seed, focusing on techniques to ensure strong, healthy starts. Ashley will teach you about soil preparation, seed selection, planting tips, and proper care to set your crops up for success. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or a beginner, this session will give you practical knowledge to grow these kitchen staples with confidence. We will supply all the materials needed for this class, including a seed starting kit with soil, a warming mat and seeds.

Ashley works at the nursery as a sales associate and ambassador for The Farmstand at New Leaf Nursery Hayden. The Farmstand is a seasonal market for local produce growers, as well as cottage goods artisans (meat, cheese, eggs and bread). The Farmstand runs during the growing season from June to September, showcasing seasonal produce and foods for your daily needs.
