The Art of Seed Starting: Planting Tomatoes & Onions

  • New Leaf Nursery 12655 North Government Way Hayden, ID, 83835 United States (map)

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll explore the essentials of growing tomatoes and onions from seed, learning techniques to ensure strong, healthy starts. Ashley will guide you through soil preparation, seed selection, planting tips, and proper care, and she’ll also share her expertise on growing a variety of vegetables and herbs. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just starting out, this session provides practical knowledge to grow these kitchen staples with confidence. All materials are included, including a seed-starting kit with soil, seeds, and a warming mat—everything you need to get growing right away.

Ashley works at the nursery as a sales associate and ambassador for The Farmstand at New Leaf Nursery Hayden. The Farmstand runs during the growing season from June to September, showcasing seasonal produce and foods for your daily needs.
